Huckabee: 'I'm very much considering another run at the presidency'

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) dismissed speculation over the weekend that he's decided to pass on another run for president in 2012, telling a conservative radio host that he's still "very much considering" a 2012 bid.

Huckabee, who's currently barnstorming the country on a book tour, told talk host Kevin McCullough that no final decisions have been made just yet, citing polling that shows him atop the field of rumored GOP presidential contenders.

"I'm very much considering another run at the presidency," Huckabee said during an exchange that aired Saturday evening. "I find it interesting, some of these pundits say, 'Huckabee's not running' ... How do you know that? Because I don't know that yet."

The former governor noted that "virtually every poll that comes out shows me at the top ... not only in state polls, but in national polls."

A national Gallup poll released late last week had Huckabee leading the rumored GOP field, but showed a wide-open race with no clear favorite.
